From ages 3 to 16 there are 5 National Curriculum ‘Key Stages’

 

 

(Pupils usually transfer to middle school at Stoke by Nayland in the September after their 9^th birthday)

 

At the end of each Key Stage there are assessments and tests, organised on a national basis.  County screening tests are set for reading at 6+ and 8+.
